Body beast
Let me first start by saying that I love this program. The first time I did body beast was back in 2013 and when I did it back then I did not follow the meal plan and eat the way I should have eaten. I ate clean , and made sure I was eating good and not crappy. Back then I was not as good of an eater as I am today. But getting back on track, I did not make sure ate good. But doing body beast this time around it is different. Not only am I putting 100% in I am making sure I count my macros. I have come to an understanding that you can count calories but when you are lifting and looking to obtain a certain type of results it is very important to count our macro intake.
Now for those of you who don't understand the whole macro nutrient thing let me briefly explain it.
WHAT ARE MACRONUTRIENTS?
Macronutrients are nutrients that provide calories or energy. Nutrients are substances needed for growth, metabolism, and for other body functions. Since “macro” means large, macronutrients are nutrients needed in large amounts. There are three macronutrients:
Carbohydrate provides 4 calories per gram.
Protein provides 4 calories per gram.
Fat provides 9 calories per gram.
This means that if you looked at the Nutrition Facts label of a product and it said 12 grams of carbohydrate, 0 grams of fat, and 0 grams of protein per serving, you would know that this food has about 48 calories per serving (12 grams carbohydrate multiplied by 4 calories for each gram of carbohydrate = 48 calories).
Besides carbohydrate, protein, and fat the only other substance that provides calories is alcohol. Alcohol provides 7 calories per gram. Alcohol, however, is not a macronutrient because we do not need it for survival.
There is also several macro nutrients calculators online that will help you determine how much of what you need on a daily basis.
I must admit that ever since I stopped counting calories and started counting my macro's my results have been huge. When you count your calories all it does it cut down your meals and not give you specifics of how much and what to eat. You basically eat the amount of calories you need a day and that includes any amount of protein, carbs and fats. But when you count your macro intake you know exactly how much of what you need to bulk or cut(lose weight, but not muscle). That is what I love about macro counting.. And the good part to there are apps that you can download on your phone that will help you keep track of your macro intake. When I first started counting my macros I tried to keep track of it by writing it down and calculating it which was a huge mistake because when you just write it down it does not tell you how much fat you are consuming in that meal or carbs etc so it is better to find an app that will assist you with that for better results.
I love body beast . It is not just a program for men it is also for women. If you are a woman looking to build some muscles and shape your body give body beast a shot. I know alot of women are under the impression that women who lift get all huge and bulky like men. FALSE!!! The only way you will get bulky is if you work towards becoming bulky and add all sorts of supplements to your diet to get that huge. You will absolutely need supplements to get big.
I take supplements but nothing to make me huge just the basics. I can do pull ups now. All types of pull ups. I lift heavy. I love what this program is doing to me and the results I am accomplishing. Eventually I would love to have abs and that V cut, that is my goal so right now I am tightning up my diet and working towards the goal. As a matter of a fact that is what I will be working towards in 2016. I have to stay focus and have to work hard and not cheat my diet. I will get the results I desire because I am willing to work hard for it. If you have not tried body beast yet, then you should. Not scared to lift, then try body beast.

How to motivate yourself to Exercise
Sometimes getting motivated to start a workout is just as difficult as the workout itself. There are days I wake up to exercise and have no motivation to workout. Those are the days I feel discouraged because I am not seeing the results I want. It is extremely hard to find motivation when you look in the mirror and you see fat rolls, or an over lapping stomach and all the problem areas you want to fix but you just don't see the results of all the hard work you have been putting in. But from the moment I decided to change my focus from looking for results to the way you feel it becomes easier to find the motivation you need to exercise.
I think about how good I feel after I workout. The fact that I enjoy sweat running down my face and feeling superior when I am done exercising..
I focus on the joy exercising brings to me. When I am exercising it feels like a burden has been lifted off me. It takes away the stress and anger and frustration that I have.
It gives me the opportunity to clear my head from my worries.
It gives me energy to keep up with my children on a daily basis.
It keeps me looking and feeling young.
It is shaping my body and I am getting healthier in the process.
It makes me a better person. It makes me a better person because not only is it a stress reliever and not only does it also helps me to ease my mind and get rid of anger it calms me for the day and clears my head.
sometimes I look for the results from working out. We all do. We are putting in all this hard work so we are expecting to see the results of the hard work we are putting and the hours and that too can keep us motivated. Having a goal to work towards to is reason alone to keep us motivated. But some individuals it is not so you have to find other forms of motivation like I listed above.
Days when I can't find motivation because i can't seem to see the results of my hard work, I think of the other benefits of exercising and it gets me motivated.

Goal Setting
Goals + Plans = Success
S- Specific
M- Measurable
A- Attainable
R- Relevant
T- Time Bound
When I think of setting goals , I can't tell you how stressful the process can be. It takes alot of deep thinking. It is easy to sit and think You know I want this, that and this and that but it is a whole different ball game to write it down and work to accomplish it. Alot of the times we think it is enough to have a goal in the back of our mind and kinda work on it. Let me say this, it is not enough.
I struggle greatly when it comes to setting goals and writing it down and working towards it. I struggle because I fear the hard work involved. I fear failure. I fear disappointment of not accomplishing my goals. Everything that we desire to have in life requires hard work and determination. Nothing good comes easy.
Today I decided to write my goals down and work towards achieving it. I know what my goals are because it has always been in the back of my mind. Everyday I would just say this is what you want so this is what you are working towards today. But it just not enough. I want to look at my goals everyday and see what I am working towards, Have that constant reminder infront of me reminding me what I am working for and why. It all comes back to knowing your why for what ever you do in life. Why do you wake up and go to work? Why do you drink water? No matter what we do in life it comes with the question Why. It is the same thing for goal setting. Why do we need to set goals? Why do you want to accomplish these things?
Your goals should be very specific and measurable,
your goals need to have a time frame ,
your goals should be stated positivitvely,
let your goals challenge you,
create realistic goals
I have decided that in order for me to truly be successful I need to write my goals down and to stay focus on my goals because this life I am living right now is not the life I desire to continue to live, especially not for my children so here we go.

My WHY Power
I have many individuals ask me what is my why.. Even when you read personal development books they ask you, what is your WHY? Although I have come across this question many times, I have never really sat and write it out. Why do I love what I do and why do I want to do what I do. But today after some deep long thought not only did I decided to write down my WHY power but I decided to blog about it. So here we go.
WHY do I exercise? WHY do I choose to eat healthy? Why do I wake up everyday at 5am to exercise, Why, WHY, WHY.
The other question I should be asking is why do I want to do beachbody?
I will first start with why do I want to do beachbody.
A few years ago I was an overweight mother that at first did not care about health and fitness. I never worried about my weight or how I looked or any of it. That all changed when I had my daughter serena. It was not until I was 5 months postpatrum that I realized how big I was as I was standing in the mirror. I had this huge belly that looked like I was still pregnant. Here I was 5'0, over weight and this huge belly. I instantly got depressed over it and started looking into getting in shape. Not just that I wanted my husband to look at me and still desire me. I didn't want to be one of these women that think it is ok to get married and let yourself go because you are married. I wanted my husband to look at me each day and remember not just why he fell in love with me but remember that girl he fell for. That is when my beachbody journey began. I knew at that time we could not afford child care for me to go to the gym so working out at home made sense. I had amazing results with the program insanity. After that I kept doing teambeachbody workout programs. There was no doubt even to this day that the programs work hence the reason I continue to use them. Team beachbody provides us with so many different opportunities to be successful and to grow in the business. The opportunities are endless and if you are willing to work hard then what is to stop you from advancing in this business. With team beachbody I not only have the opportunity to be a stay at home mom with my kids and be part of their everyday life, but I also have the opportunity to do a job that I love. I am doing what I love, getting results and getting paid for it... and I get to help others along the way.Beachbody and I have the same goals.. Help individuals to live a better, healthier lifestyle but teaching them the importance of good nutrition and exercise in their daily life. Beachbody has blessed me with so many opportunities . The biggest opportunity is being a stay at home mom with my kids. I am a fitness freak. It never use to be so but I fell in love with this lifestyle all thanks to beachbody and shaun T.
Now to answer the previous question.
I exercise because I love it. Exercising especially lifting weights makes me stronger , makes me feel superior, keeps me in shape and helps me to teach my children how important it is to incorporate fitness in their life. I exercise to beat the trend of obesity, fight diabetes, stay in shape and shape my body to what I want it to look like. It gives me joy knowing that I am doing something that I love, that makes me happy and helps me break the trend.
I eat healthy because there is no better way. What you eat is what you become. In order for me to stay motivated, see results, be the change, I chose to watch what i eat. I hate feeling sluggish or wiped out or feeling crappy from eating crappy so I eat healthy. Most importantly so it helps me to stay on track with not only my fitness goals but to be an example to my children and teach them these important values while they are still young.
Wake up at 5 am is a huge sacrifice. A sacrifice I enjoy. I like to be a product of the product. I know that if I do not make such a small sacrifice like this, then the bigger sacrifices will be even more difficult. To ensure I get my workout in for the day I have to make this sacrifice. I love what I do and this is just a small sacrifice.
Our WHY power is so important. If you don't have a WHY for what you do then know you are going to fail. Our WHY is what motivates us. It drives us and if you do not know your why then you are setting up yourself for failure. No matter what you do in life you need to know your why. If you do not know your why then sit down, grab a pen and paper and start writing. Success comes to those of us that build our goals on our Why. Our why leads us and motivates us. Never lose site of your why because that is when you start losing the real reason you started doing something in the first place.
Resting it out
I have made the decision to take the week off. My stomach has been acting up really bad. It has been acting so weird that I am super bloated from it to the point that I look pregnant and it is causing me major lower back pain. My body just feels like it needs a break and as much as I hate to admit it I really do need a break. I need to allow my body to rest and recover.
It is so important to listen to our bodies and what it is communicating to us. Sometimes it is hard to take a break because we can be so obsessive with our fitness and the thought of gaining weight can be a weight on our mind. I Know when I do not exercise it bothers me. It bothers me a whole lot. I keep thinking that I will gain weight and that I will become fat and at that moment I make the decision to go exercise regardless of how awful I feel.
Sometimes that is not the best decision because it can cause us to do more damage to our bodies instead of good. It is so important to listen to our bodies.
After I gave birth to my son I was so excited to start exercising . I did not wait to hit 6 weeks before I started working out. At five weeks I was ontop my exercise full on. I didn't ease back into it I went back full force.. A few weeks after I could tell it was taking in tow on my stomach. In fact my stomach is acting up the same way it did when I first starting exercising again. The pain would get so bad that the only thing I could do is curl up in a ball in pain and cry.. It was extremely difficult especially with having kids. The pain was so bad that it would have me up and down in the toilet, endless amounts of doctors visit and a huge hospital bill because they were the only one that could help manage the pain. No pain killers did it for me. I even had an endoscopy done to see what was wrong, along with CAT scans and all sorts of test which all came back negative. The doctors just could not figure it out neither could I. So I changed my diet around because even eating became a problem. I just could not eat. I changed my diet to a BRAT diet and also included protein in my diet and did that for a week or two and just ate super simple and super clean after that and stopped exercising for a bit and it was then I started to feel better. It was just those simple steps that allowed my body to recover from what ever it was I was going through. And now I think the same thing is happening again . I can tell by the way my stomach is acting. So I am choosing to take this week off and to change my diet and pray it goes away because I cannot imagine dealing with this pain again. It was the worst pain ever. It felt like my gall bladder pain but I know it was not my gall bladder since I no longer have my gall bladder.
But the point of this all is to listen to your body when it is trying to commuicate with you. There is nothing wrong with taking time out. You just watch what you eat and relax and recover. You don't always need a week off but in this case I know I do.. You rest then you come back strong and give it everything you got. I am abstaining from any exercising and try to get this pain under control. You should do the same and listen to your body.
